Freddie Rowland

Project Manager at Regency Grove

Freddie Rowland is a shining example of a rising star in the luxury property industry. Nominated by Ricky West, Freddie's exceptional performance in her role is truly noteworthy. Not only does she excel in her duties with finesse and professionalism, but her approachable and personable manner also makes her highly esteemed by all colleagues and partners within our network. Freddie's ability to effortlessly navigate professional relationships while maintaining a high standard of work is commendable and greatly contributes to the success of our collaborative efforts. Her consistent dedication and exemplary conduct set a standard of excellence that is recognized and appreciated by all who have the privilege of working alongside her.

Hi Freddie, so great to have you here. Please could you tell us about your proudest career moment so far?

Without sounding too much of a cliché, being nominated for Rising Star has been amongst one of my proudest moments, a feeling of recognition for the hard work and development since starting out in the industry 5.5 years ago. Working within a sector of the industry where our clients are all intellectuals and business minded, it sets an extremely high bar to impress by delivering their desired homes / developments in an efficient and timely manner, and of course with as little hassle as possible. Delivering a large and complex project with varying constraints restricting elements of the build until certain times of year, but a hard deadline for the works to be completed by which meant a hard and fast programme was extremely challenging. The client’s gratuity to me at the end of a long and grueling 12 months made a moment of reflection and instilled me with proud with what we had delivered. I very much felt that hard work really does pay off, not necessarily in a commercial sense, but more in the emotion and feeling of satisfaction once something you have worked so hard to achieve has been completed.

Have you faced moments of doubt in your career, and how did you overcome them?

There are always moments where you may second guess yourself, and reconsider whether the decision made was the correct one, this is the very nature of personal and professional development. Through experience, and working with multitudes of people, and varying complexities that develop through the projects, creates a foundation for which my confidence has grown upon. Knowing that i am continually learning and developing instills confidence within me opposed to letting fear of not knowing take over.

What do you think are the main challenges women face in the luxury property industry, and how can they be addressed?

Typically there is a lack of women within the industry as a whole, however I have felt that since moving into specialised projects for UHNWI that there is an increasing number of female professionals. Fortunately I work with a number of brilliant women on a number of projects, and I would like to think that any previous taboo about women in construction is disappearing but the uprising and number of women that I see across the industry, the challenges we face today are no different to that of my male counterpart sat across the table.

Who has been your biggest supporter, and how have they empowered you?

Asides from attending Beyoncé's Renaissance concert last summer which was phenomenal and never have I felt more empowered, I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by positive and driven people both at work and at home. At Regency Grove, the director's have been a great support in shouldering my progression as a Project Manager and giving me the tools, confidence, and advice in order to set out to achieve my aspirations in the business and wider industry.

Reflecting on your journey, what advice would you give to young women starting their careers?

Take every opportunity, whether it is from taking the minutes, developing a programme, assembling a professional team, attending networking events, even if you have never done it before, there will always be a first time. And if i can sneak a second one, it will be listen to your peers, even if you don't agree with them, you never know when you may face the same task as them and how they dealt with it can help you set out your thoughts on the appropriate action.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for the future?

I am always looking forwards, the only time i look back is to see how far i have come since first discovering my love for development and conservation of heritage within the built environment. Looking ahead at 2024 and further down the line, i would like to see myself progress as a Project Manager with a focus on the super prime and heritage sector of the industry, to lead and motivate people, and inspire others setting out their first steps within the industry.
