Ella Cooper

Private Client Account Handler at Flint Insurance

Ella Cooper is a shining example of a rising star in the luxury property industry. Nominated by Rachel Ewing, Associate Director at Flint Insurance, she shares, “I'm delighted to nominate Ella for her remarkable growth and development over the past four years. Working closely with her, I've seen her self-improvement and skill enhancement firsthand. Her surge in confidence, particularly noticeable in the past year, is truly commendable. Challenges that once unsettled her are now met head-on, with newfound assertiveness and determination. Her transformation at Flint reflects her dedication and resilience, and I'm immensely proud of her progress.

I'm confident her adeptness in nurturing relationships will continue to drive her success. Ella's journey serves as an inspiration, and I wholeheartedly endorse her for this well-deserved recognition.”

Hi Ella, so great to have you here. Please could you tell us about your proudest career moment so far?

My proudest moment in my career so far was when I got to visit a famous songwriter, who’s property had a horrendous escape of water claim. He had only just recently moved in following renovation works so this was devastating for him. Along with the loss adjusters, I was able to help get the claim resolved and repairs started promptly which he was grateful for. A bonus was that it turned out we went to the same school, so we built up a great rapport over that! Helping clients in their time of need from start to end always gives me the highest satisfaction in my role.

Have you faced moments of doubt in your career, and how did you overcome them?

I have always been somewhat of a perfectionist and with that I’ve always had a lack of confidence. Gradually throughout my education and then transition into work life, this has improved due to the support of those around me as well as working on practicing gratitude and daily positive affirmations.

What do you think are the main challenges women face in the luxury property industry, and how can they be addressed?

I would say the industry is male dominated so it has been a struggle for women to enter and feel valued in their roles but this is changing. I think that the more female role models that are visible across the industry, then more women and girls will be inspired to enter. Along with this, I would say there needs to be more opportunities, programs and apprenticeships to support women as well as other minority groups entering the industry.

Who has been your biggest supporter, and how have they empowered you?

I have many supporters but one of my biggest would be my Dad. He has never doubted me in anything I have wanted to achieve and always believed in me. There have been many times when he has lifted me back up and encouraged me to achieve.

Reflecting on your journey, what advice would you give to young women starting their careers?

Never compare yourself to others and always stand up for yourself.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for the future?

This will sound very cliché but I hope to be happy and healthy and continue to enjoy my job.
